Plaster

  • Weigh an empty beaker. Record the weight. Tare.

  • Weigh some gypsum into beaker. Record the weight.

  • Put beaker into oven overnight.

  • Weigh beaker after heating and subtract weight of empty beaker.

  • Divide weight of plaster by weight of gypsum: (after heating)/(before heating).

  • Compare to theoretical weight of 84%.
