I am the Elliott Professor of Chemistry at Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Virginia. The website for the Old Dominion Model A Ford Club is hosted at my website, CavemanChemistry.com.

My interest in Model A's began with a trip to Fred's Antique Car Museum in Appomattox. My wife, Peggy, and I had passed the sign for years and always intended to stop, but the years rolled by. Then Peggy heard on the radio that Fred was closing the museum, so we decided to go on their last day. I had always assumed that only millionaires owned antique cars, and I was surprised to see the prices on all of the cars. "I could buy that one.. or that one.. or that one." Well, I couldn't buy all of them, so I explained to Fred that I wanted a car I could drive around and have fun with, not something to gather dust in a museum. "Oh, then you want a Model A Ford," Fred explained, "Parts are easy to come by, they drive like a modern car, and there are clubs for Model A enthusiasts." "Great," I said, "Sell me a Model A" "I don't have any left," said Fred. Since then, I joined the Old Dominion club. I don't have a car yet, but I like the look of the '31 slant-windshield Fordor. I don't yet have a garage to keep it in, but when the right car comes along, I'll figure something out. In the meantime, I have set up this website for the Club. I hope you enjoy it.

This Is Not My Car

...but I love the look of the suicide doors.

This wiki was originally set up to write the following papers. I keep them here so they don't get lost.
