!DCA 06/351 ZDC AIRSPACE UNMANNED ROCKET WI AN AREA DEFINED AS 3NM RADIUS OF LVL331027.4 (10NM WSW W81) SFC-6600FT 1706251500-1706252200
We had four flyers at this month’s launch. We welcomed Jon Lane and his wife and daughter to Hovar. He had 5 flights ranging from A8 to E16. Bill Spencer flew 3 rockets on F16, G64, and G106. Tim Raney flew Experimental Rocket #14 on H110 and H100 motors to altitudes of 3108 and 3275 feet, respectively. His Jolly Logic Chute Release performed flawlessly, but the second flight landed in a pond. Stay tuned to find out whether it survived getting wet. Kevin Dunn flew Drago the Red on a G125, and Darkstar Talby on an H233. The weather was perfect and all rockets were recovered intact. What more could we have asked for?

Sounds like a plan, Kevin. See you all at 1200. TIM R.

  3. Timothy Raney says:

After emptying most of the water, the Jolly Logic Chute Release has been in a jar of desiccant since 25 June. Testing pending. The altimeter seems to be working, but I need to test it more thoroughly. Time will tell.
